Who doesn’t want to have healthy and well-groomed skin? Of course, one of the keys is skincare products. However, it turns out, that the choice of skincare products and one’s skincare habits can be influenced by our personality type! One of the personality tests MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) has long been in circulation and helps to identify individual characteristics.

In this article, we will explain how the MBTI test can affect the way one takes care of their skin, as well as give a brief explanation of the MBTI and its parts. Check it out Sereni-Trees, Is it like your habit too?

What is MBTI?

The MBTI test was originally introduced by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter, Isabel Briggs Myers, in 1942 based on Carl Jung’s psychological theories. The key to this test is to explore individual personality indicators so that people can understand themselves and find suitable jobs.

While many consider there to be only two personality types, introverts and extroverts, the MBTI test provides insight that personality variation is much broader than that.

In the end, this test breaks down human character based on several different categories, namely Introversion (I) versus Extraversion (E), Intuitive (N) versus Sensory (S), Thinking (T) versus Feeling (F), and Judging (J) versus Perceiving (P). So, from the combination of these 8 categories, 16 individual personality types are created!

As a result of this variety of types, many companies and institutions use MBTI tests as part of the employee selection process, using them to identify candidates who are best suited to the company culture. In addition, HRDs often use MBTI tests as the basis for on-the-job training. It turns out that this test is quite popular!

But why can we conclude that this MBTI test can influence the way we take care of our skin?

MBTI Influence on Skincare Habits

Each personality type has different preferences and approaches to many aspects of life, including skincare.

For example, individuals with an analytically inclined personality type (Thinking) may prefer skincare products backed by scientific data and research. On the other hand, individuals who are more emotional (Feeling) may be more inclined to choose skincare products that have soothing scents and provide a pleasant experience. These mindsets and preferences are reflected in our choice of products, textures, and skincare routines!

Maybe things like this are often not realized by us, Serenitree Squad. Maybe if we stop and pay attention to our own habits then we will see!
